KCM WHITE FUSED MULLITE has been developed in response to demand for refractories which need to fire white at moderate temperatures, e.g. in high grade kiln furniture. This product can produce white, blemish free refractories at temperatures as low as 1500oC.
KCM WHITE FUSED MULLITE is manufactured from pure materials in electric arc furnaces. Raw materials and their blending are carefully controlled prior to fusion and the ingots produced subjected to strict quality control standards before the crushing and grading operations begin. Finally, further checks on chemical specification and sieve analysis are carried out before despatch.
KCM WHITE FUSED MULLITE grain is composed of massive crystals of mullite which are formed during cooling after fusion. Thus KCM White Fused Mullite grain has a high content of very large mullite crystals which confer high melting point, excellent thermal stability, low reversible thermal expansion and first class resistance to thermal shock, chemical corrosion and slag erosion at high temperature.
KCM White Fused Mullite aggregate can be used to produce high quality bricks, shapes and monolithics having:
